 What can I expect from my Breathwork session?

  • Whether working 1:1 or as part of a group, I offer an on boarding package to ensure that Breathwork is a good fit for you and that you are provided with all the relevant support and information before we meet in person. Remember, you are in the driving seat and you will have the ability to control your experience. All that is required is an open mind. Your breath and body will know exactly what to do!

  • It's natural to feel some apprehension prior to a session. You will be provided with support and information before we meet and additional opportunities for any questions are provided throughout your session. There will be plenty of time to ensure you feel confident and prepared before we begin. We move at a pace that is comfortable for you and I'll guide you through the straightforward breathing techniques we'll be using. I will coach you throughout and there is an option to opt out of the breathwork practice at any time. You are in control . All that is required is an open mind. Your breath and body know exactly what to do. You have everything you need - You have got this!

  • You will be warmly welcomed and we will spend time getting to know each other. If it is a 1:1 session, we will go through your onboarding form together. As part of your welcome, I provide an outline of the practice, what our time will look like, what you can expect from me. There is also lots of time for questions and answers throughout the session.

  • You can count on a professional, relaxed and compassionate experience. Your session is guided by strict ethical standards, boundaries, and ongoing consent, ensuring your wellbeing throughout. My social work background means that these are deeply embodied in my practice. Breathwork is a personalized and transformative practice. My work centres around choice and collaboration. I tailor every aspect of your session, including the technique and pace to suit each client or group, making every session a unique experience. You can expect that each breathwork session with me will bring something different, ensuring it is fresh and individualized every time.

  • During a breathwork journey, you'll typically lie down to breathe, unless specific accessibility needs suggest an alternative. Once comfortably settled, you may choose to close your eyes and begin the breathing technique. A personalized playlist of music will accompany your journey, during which I may speak at times and stay silent at others. Even though you are in a non-ordinary state of consciousness, you are still able to engage and speak with me and have the freedom to return to a natural breathing pace, or opt out of the practice at any time.

  • The Breathwork journey begins once you connect to your breath and continues for as long as the connected breathing pattern is sustained. The duration varies among individuals and is influenced by your life story and the need to adapt the technique or pace accordingly. Typically, a Breathwork journey spans between 45-90 minutes, and it can be also be much shorter when tailoring to individual needs. Your experience is always guided by what is right for you on the day and can be different again at your next session.

  • Consciously connecting the breath accesses the sub conscious mind and you will experience a non-ordinary state of consciousness during your Breathwork journey. This can happen very quickly for example, within several minutes or it can take longer. The day to day benefits of Breathwork can be noticed immediately after the session as well as in the days, weeks and months to come.

  • Physical sensations, emotions, thoughts and spiritual experiences may be felt during your session. The practice of conscious connected breathing encourages you to breathe through these experiences and remain present. It's not unusual to undergo a profound shift, possibly expressing emotions through tears, laughter, or movement. You might also notice a physical calming of your nervous system, a sense of grounding in your body, or sensations like tingling, vibration, or shaking, depending on the movement of energy. Alternatively, you may feel stillness. Temperature fluctuations can occur, so wearing light, comfortable clothing is advisable. Whether you feel these sensations or not, rest assured that they are all a natural part of the process and are temporary in nature.

  • It is important to drink plenty of water to re-hydrate after a Breathwork session. The process of unwinding and integration may continue beyond the session. You may experience a range of emotions, sensitivity, or changes in energy levels for a few days afterwards. Be patient and compassionate with yourself during this time. It is important to give yourself the time that you may need as well as between sessions to process and integrate your breathwork experience. You will be able to notice new patterns and reflections emerging which can be nurtured along with any other positive change.

  • While a single breathwork session can bring about profound transformation, the journey to lasting change is a gradual process. Each breathwork session will build your internal resourcing and promote a healthy life balance a.d resilience Together, we can design a plan that allows sufficient space between each session, providing the opportunity for you to ease into your breathwork experience and move towards your desired outcome.
